In 2018, William was deployed to Guadalajara, Mexico, to guard one of their labs while they proceeded to remove various abducted childrens' brains for the Sears Program. A month after the first batch was completed, he later led three cyborg soldiers and two Raptor UGs to attack the Maverick member Raiden, after learning of his presence inside the lab and ordered a search. Raiden, who had just discovered the cyborg brains when he heard their commands to search for him, ambushed them and wiped them out, also taking William's arm in the process.
