The Wakh Sind Barracks was a Soviet base in Afghanistan. It served both as housing for Soviet soldiers and as a prison for captured enemies. The conditions were rather poor and one of the buildings on the base remained unfinished, although each barrack did have air conditioning and a cassette player. In 1984, the creator of Venom Snake's bionic arm was a prisoner here. He was later rescued and recruited by Venom Snake.
