About The Pain[]
I believe The Pain has one of the most irritating attacks I've ever seen in a video game. He uses hornets to attack his enemies, and he also uses them to protect himself.
Case in point, after playing an extensive amount of Monster Hunter, I guess The Khezu is somewhat like The Pain - both definitely very annoying. Sure, there's a pool of water to evade his hornets in, but he's annoying to me. Also, The Pain is not as irritating as The End, but still very annoying.
I hate to say this, but I'll just state my opinion.
This trivia is wrong[]
Whoever wrote "the Pain's only non-hornet related weapon was the M1A1 variant of the infamous Thompson submachine gun line" was just outright wrong, unless I'm somehow missing how grenades are hornet-related.

Grenades[]
I'm pretty sure they were ordinary frag grendaes carried by hornets. After all, Not everything from the voice casting sheet made it into the final game. --Bluerock 12:40, February 5, 2012 (UTC)

Hornets nest and Markhor rank[]
I recently ran through MGS 3 on the HD collection and obtained the Markhor rank to get the trophy associated with it, and I can confirm that you do not need the Hornets nest with pain hornets in order to recieve the rank, as I didnt even have a Hornets nest on me at the time I fought the Pain.71.179.24.188 22:47, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
I went ahead and edited that line out because literally every guide i've seen makes no mention of the pain hornet nest as a requirement. the only people i see saying you need it are random forum posts with no proof. 24.208.82.131 03:06, July 29, 2013 (UTC)
