MGSV aircraft[]
the plane in MGSV GZ looks a lot like a harrier, but the wings are wrong, given how most of the guns and helicopters in the game are orignials made for the game I would say this is an example of the same thing98.109.197.10 05:02, January 25, 2015 (UTC)
- It also looks a lot like F-4 Phantom, especially with those characteristic splitter plates in front of air intakes and cannon pod underneath the cockpit, but most importantly, it has no vectorable exhaust nozzles. So, despite having round air intakes and bicycle undercarriage, I'd say it's supposed to be a F-4 Phantom analogue, not AV-8 Harrier.--Kazeite (talk) 15:05, October 20, 2015 (UTC)
Skowronski's mentioning a "Sukhoi"[]
Nowhere in Portable Ops is it made clear that he's referring to the Su-27. In fact, it would be impossible for him to be referring to the Su-27 as the aircraft didn't exist at the time and didn't fly until 1977 as the T-10, a full seven years after the events of the game. What's more likely was that he was referring to the Su-15 interceptor, NATO codename "Flagon", or the Su-17 fighter-bomber, NATO codename "Fitter", which were mainstay fighter aircraft for the Soviet VVS at the time.
Then again it wouldn't be the first time that an aircraft had showed up at an earlier point in the games than they did in real life (point and case: the Mi-24 Hind helicopter gunships in MGS3).

- This appears to be the result of a misleading heading, as the paragraph concerning Skowronskis desire for a Sukhoi was added much later, and doesn't actually say he specifically wanted a Su-27. I have therefore reorganized that section to discuss Sukhoi aircraft in general, to avoid any confusion. --Bluerock (talk) 12:44, May 18, 2015 (UTC)
