Fiance?[]
Just some thoughts on the whole fiance/wedding thing of Ellen's in MG2:
The PS2 translation is as follows:
Dr. Madnar:
Snake...
My daughter Ellen is a fan of yours. She's not married yet, and I'm
afraid I...
Snake:
Don't worry. I'll make sure you get home in time for your
daughter's wedding.
Dr. Madnar:
Thank you, Snake...
It doesn't seem (to me anyway) that it implies she is about to get married soon, and suggests that Madnar would like to be around for it, even though she is taking her time doing it. However, Snake says that he'll get him back 'in time' for the wedding, which sorta contradicts this, and implies the wedding is gonna happen soon. In my view, I think what Snake is saying is that he will get Madnar out of Zanzibar Land alive, but it won't take so long as to make him miss his daughter's wedding.
Yeah, I know it sounds kinda lame. Though to be honest I don't think the PS2 script is perfect, despite being much improved on the fan translation. It still mentions Big Boss losing his right eye during the Outer Heaven Crisis! ` Though not worded the same as the fan translation, Madnar does mention she is a 'fan' of Snake, which seems to hint that this is a possible reason why she hasn't married yet. Otherwise, it would seem kinda pointless to mention it. -- Bluerock 19:19, December 9, 2009 (UTC)
