A T-shirt, also known as a T shirt or tee, is a style of shirt that is often used for casual wear. It is named as such because of its body and arms bearing the resemblance to the letter "T." It may feature several designer logos and adverts on it.

Usage[]

T-shirts were utilized by the Militaires Sans Frontières while off duty, with at least one being found within the Mother Base's training facility's firing range. At least one MSF member also collected various T-shirts in their spare time, as they were self-described to be a "slave of fashion."[1] At least one soldier during this time had a black T-shirt that had "I [Heart] Fishing" printed in white text.[2]

PMCs sometimes wore T-shirts with their uniform, provided that the environment for their current assignment was warm enough to require it.

Behind the scenes[]

T-shirts were a recurring procurable item in the Metal Gear series since Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and its online mode, where players could procure T-shirts, which included the Uniqlo line, for usage in the latter. T-shirts in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appeared as both a standard item and as a passcode-unlocked DLC item, the latter primarily advertizing various product placement items related to the in-game shirts. Some of these were removed from the international versions due to either product placement-related reasons or simply because the items weren't applicable to Western audiences. However, the Walkman, HORI, and Uniqlo shirts were retained, alongside the FOX shirt. Besides the passcode shirts, ten t-shirts were also included as DLC in the Japanese version, six representing characters from the Arakawa Under the Bridge series, and four representing the Monster Hunter franchise. Each shirt costed 74 KB, amounting to 740 KB total.

Four T-shirts by Uniqlo, including two developed by Shinkawa, were used on Versus Battle, where they fought each other.
