Behind the scenes[]
In the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, the names of the stun batons were changed to "laughing rods," due to censorship policies. For similar reasons, the rods tickle the victim rather than shock, though the frequency could result in the victim's death if raised too high.
