Raid At Area 51 was an infiltration raid conducted by the Paradise Lost Army and the operative Raiden, started in hopes of rescuing Sunny Gurlukovich, the daughter of the deceased Olga Gurlukovich.
Origins[]
After the Big Shell Incident, sometime in late 2009 and early 2010, Jack and Rose tried to live a normal, civilian life. But during that peaceful time Jack started to experience PTSD thanks to Solidus unlocking his memory of the time he was a child soldier under Solidus's Small Boy Unit consisting of child soldiers during Big Shell. This led Jack to get into public fights, he started drinking heavily. Also during that time both Jack and Rose started to feel the tension between each other due to his psychotic breakdowns that led him to be heavily damaged mentally and physically. Because of this, and because of being scared of Patriots reign over the world, Rose decided to take their newborn child into the care of Roy Campbell, telling Jack that she got herself a miscarrige of the child. Due to the anger Jack felt towards Rose over this fake revelation, he decided to leave her. Rose afterwards moved to Campbell's house and staged a marriage to gain full security over herself and her child in form of Roy's contacts in the military.
The Meetup[]
A year later, Raiden and Big Mama first met. Big Mama, in exchange for Big Boss's location that Raiden learned of from GW-AI, gave Raiden intel that Sunny was kept in Area 51. Raiden, feeling responsible for Sunny's life[1], decided that there's no better time than return to the military with a raid on the Area 51. And although Solid Snake told Raiden that he would save Sunny, due to his worsening Werner Syndrome, which made Snake age faster due to Patriots tickering with his DNA before his birth during the Les Enfants Terribles project almost forty years prior, he was unable to do so. Knowing that fact, Raiden started preparations for the eventual raid he will conduct on the facility with the help of Big Mama's army, Paradise Lost Army.
The Raid[]
Sometime the same year, Raiden and the Paradise Lost Army conducted a suprise raid on the facility.

During the unknown part during the raid, Raiden met the former Soviet soldier, Boris Vyacheslavovich Popov, who was a friend of Olga's father, Sergei Gurlukovich, who made Raiden realize that The Patriots are not only a threat to United States, but also the whole world.

Eventually, Raiden and the Paradise Lost Army found Sunny in the facility, and rescued her. After that, they exfiltrated the hot zone and left the area.
Aftermath[]
The raid was considered a success. Sunny was saved. During that time Raiden finally learned about Rose's and Campbell's presumed "marriage". Feeling hopeless and depressed, he left Sunny under the care of Otacon and Snake anonymously. Otacon later changed Sunny's second name to his own, Emmerich, fully adopting her as her daughter. Afterwards, Raiden wandered the earth to learn new skills. He studied scouting techniques with a Native American shaman living in Alaska, and learned to hunt. After a year, Raiden started preparations to retrieve Big Boss's body for Big Mama.
Behind The Scenes[]
the Raid On Area 51 was mentioned in Metal Gear Solid 4 and it's Database. The event was likely going to be featured in the now cancelled Metal Gear Solid: Rising, which later became Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
- ^ In Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty, right before her death, Olga informs Raiden that the Patriots injected him with special nanomachines that react to his physical status. This meant that if Raiden died, her daughter would too. Afterwards Ogla proceeded to shield Raiden for a moment until Solidus Snake decided to grab her by her throat with his powered suit's tentacle, readying his P90. In her last moments, Olga exclaimed to Raiden that he must live. Afterwards, Solidus Snake decided to shoot her in the head with the submachine gun.
