Quinton Joseph Flynn (born October 10, 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio, United States) is an American voice actor and comedian.

He also provided the voices of Croix in La Pucelle: Tactics, Myifee in 99 Nights, Henry in No More Heroes, Isaaru in Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2, Axel in the Kingdom Hearts series, Iruka in the Naruto series, Kon in Bleach, Kael'Thas in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne and in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, Kolyat in Mass Effect 2, Reno in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Alberto Falcone/Holiday in Batman: Arkham Origins, and Silver the Hedgehog in the Sonic the Hedgehog series starting with Sonic Generations. Coincidentally, Silver's character arc in the Sonic the Hedgehog series had some similarities to Raiden's appearances in Snake Eraser and Jamais Vu (in particular, Silver's debut game, Sonic 2006, had him traveling back in time to kill Sonic in a similar manner to Raiden trying to go back in time to kill Naked Snake, though for different reasons, and eventually went back in time to aid their former targets like with Jamais Vu with Raiden). He is also a frequently recurring actor on the stop-motion sketch series Robot Chicken and the Crash Bandicoot series. He is also the narrator of the Investigation Discovery TV series I'd Kill for You.

In November 2020, a number of fans came forward to accuse Flynn of sexual harassment.[1][2][3] In January 2021, he was not invited to a Metal Gear Solid reunion stream.[4] In April 2021, Flynn's lines as Kael'thas Sunstrider in World of Warcraft were re-recorded by another voice actor.[5] His character in the No More Heroes series, Henry Cooldown, was also recast for No More Heroes III.[6]

Metal Gear series[]

One of Flynn's most well-known roles is that of providing the English voice of Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. In an interview for The Gaming Liberty, Flynn recalled that he was personally chosen to supply the English voice for Raiden by casting director Kris Zimmerman, whom he had worked with in the past. In addition, he also remembered taking a while to figure out how to voice Raiden, so Zimmerman suggested that he base Raiden's voice on an past character that he previously voiced.[7] In an interview with IGN, Flynn stated that for his role in Metal Gear Solid 4, he had to change his voice to a "war torn, battle-weary cyborg-ninja kind of quality", resulting in him making his voice more gruff than it was in Metal Gear Solid 2. Flynn reprised his role as Raiden in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.[8]

Besides Raiden, he also voiced some of the FOX soldiers in Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops and Portable Ops Plus (more specifically, FOX Soldier Type B). Because of various voice clips being reused for various additional characters in the latter game, he consequentially also was the voice of some the SEAL Team 10 soldiers and the Tengu.

Flynn, prior to it being announced that Kiefer Sutherland would replace David Hayter as the English voice of Big Boss, posted a tweet requesting people to sign an unsuccessful petition to have Hayter reprise his role.[9]
