During the San Hieronymo Incident in 1970, the personnel on the San Hieronymo Peninsula utilized medical kits for treating injuries, which were organized into two different packages based on size. Several of these kits, of both sizes, were left behind at the Soviet base's hospital when they were intended to be transferred to the research lab. Many of the kits were also procured by Big Boss and his resistance group that were fighting Gene's rebellion.

Post-San Hieronymo[]

Behind the scenes[]

In Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, two sizes of medical kit exist: the small version features a hypodermic needle and a bandage roll, and recovers a small amount of LIFE; the large version recovers a greater amount of LIFE, and features additional medicines in the form of pills (presumably digestive medicine), a bottle (presumably disinfectant), and an ampoule (presumably containing either Life Medicine or Antidote).
