Lacquer spray is an aerosol spray used as a common cosmetic product, which is sprayed onto hair to keep it stiff or in a certain style. Lacquer spray canisters contain a blend of simple industrial polymers, though the majority is filled with volatile solvents necessary to solubilize and aerosolize the active ingredients.

In 1999, Solid Snake utilized a lacquer spray, under the brand name of Mrs. Spray, during Operation Intrude F014. The aerosol spray contained dimethyl ether and liquid petroleum gas as propellants, making it highly flammable. Snake thus used it as one of the components of a makeshift flamethrower, which he used to incinerate Zanzibar Land's leader, Big Boss.
