Jennifer was a member of the 2009 inspection tour on the Big Shell, who was taken captive and held hostage by the Sons of Liberty.

During the Big Shell Incident in 2009, Jennifer, alongside her colleagues on the inspection team headed by President James Johnson of the Big Shell, was held hostage by the terrorist group Sons of Liberty. She was held in the first floor basement conference room of the Shell 1 Core. She was wounded by gunfire when bullets ricocheted off the Cyborg Ninja's blade and hit her and several other hostages. She was later rescued along with the other surviving hostages by Hal Emmerich.

Behind the scenes[]

Jennifer is a minor incidental character in the Plant Chapter of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. She is among the hostages in the Shell 1 Core. Unlike her fellow captives, however, she isn't gagged.

The player can use the Directional Microphone to inquire whether Jennifer is Secret Service agent Richard Ames, which she responds to by giving her name. Questioning her with the D. Mic equipped, or putting her to sleep with the M9, causes her to spread her legs and briefly expose her underwear. Like other female hostages, pressing the L3 button will have the player character Raiden comment on her measurements, although this is omitted from the PlayStation Vita version due to the handheld's lack of said button.

Jennifer appears as a Secret Service agent in the Snake Tales scenario "A Wrongdoing," included in Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. She is found in the same manner as Ames in Metal Gear Solid 2, with her cell phone replacing the latter's pacemaker.

Jennifer features on two character cards in Metal Gear Acid 2. The standard card's description mentions that the numbers "35 25 37" were printed on a plate attached to the desk she was leaning against, referring to the measurements spoken by Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2. The same description also alludes to the other Easter egg from that game, should she be put to sleep.[1]
