An Instruction Manga, as indicated by the name, is a piece of literature that combines elements of Japanese comic books (Manga) with video game strategy guides, resulting in the player learning more about how to beat a game in a more story-based format. They were generally limited to Japan, although some were localized overseas.
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, Metal Gear Online, and to a certain extent Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots had their instruction manuals done in the format of Instruction Manga.
