Gyrocopters patrol a jungle, while Lt. Snake evades their sight.
A gyrocopter, or autogyro, is a type of rotorcraft that uses an unpowered rotor in autorotation to develop lift, and an engine-powered propeller, similar to that of a fixed-wing aircraft, to provide thrust.
Soldiers patrolling the jungles of a Western-opposed country used gyrocopters to scout for enemies. Lt. Solid Snake of FOXHOUND was forced to evade the aircraft during Operation 747.

Gyrocopters appear in the jungle area at the beginning of Snake's Revenge. The game's manual refers to them as "Heli-snoops."
