Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a fighting game for the Nintendo Switch. It is the fifth entry in the Super Smash Bros. series, following the release of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U for both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Ultimate was released on December 7, 2018, nearly a decade after Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is the second game in the series to feature Solid Snake as a playable character. Since David Hayter was replaced as the voice actor for Snake during development of Metal Gear Solid V, the English version of the game featured him reprising his role[1] for the first time since Metal Gear Solid 2: Bande Dessinée, though through archival voice clips from Brawl. Besides Snake, the Shadow Moses Island stage and the Gray Fox assist trophy make a return. Additionally, Kazuhira Miller and Ocelot appear in the game as spirits for the game's story mode, World of Light. Snake's logo has been changed to an Exclamation point, owing to Kojima and Konami's separation. Because of Rathalos appearing as both an assist trophy and as a boss character, it also marks the second time Metal Gear has interacted with Monster Hunter (the first being in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker). Aside from the Metal Gear series, the Konami series Castlevania is also represented via Simon and Richter Belmont. The soundtrack composer for Peace Walker also did a remix of the Airship theme from Super Mario Bros. 3 for the game.
