A chicken is a type of domesticated fowl bird, a subspecies of the jungle redfowl. It is bred for either direct consumption or otherwise for their eggs as a food source.

Guns of the Patriots Incident[]

During the events of the Guns of the Patriots Incident, Sunny, Otacon, and Solid Snake utilized three chickens for their eggs, each of whom were named after the three clones of the Les Enfants Terribles project (Solid, Liquid and Solidus).
Just prior to Snake's mission to assassinate Liquid Ocelot in the Middle East, Sunny cooked some of the chickens' eggs, noting that only two were available, and commenting that Solidus "must have taken the day off." Chickens were also owned by Middle Eastern militiamen, some of which were present in the safe house that was infiltrated by Snake.
