Elephant was a female member of the private military company Militaires Sans Frontières.
A fight between deputy commander Kazuhira Miller and commander Big Boss broke out in Mother Base's sauna due to the former's womanizing nature with two female members of MSF which resulted in one of the female soldiers' boyfriend to be hospitalized after witnessing it. After reprimanding Miller for setting a very bad example with his behavior, Big Boss then accused him of sleeping with Elephant and Dolphin. Miller denied this, which resulted in the fight escalating. Paz Ortega Andrade witnessed the fight and recorded the event in her diary tapes.
Behind the scenes
Elephant is a character mentioned in the "Snake & Kaz (Sauna)" audio drama included in the CD Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - Heiwa to Kazuhira no Blues, which elaborated on an event alluded to by Paz in her eighth diary entry.
In Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, there was a wandering Mother Base soldier named Elephant. However, it is not the same one as the one Miller was suspected of carrying an affair with, as the soldiers were male, while the one in the radio drama was female.
