Several years prior to the Shadow Moses Incident in 2005, Anderson's wife acted as a consultant for a firm to which regular payments, in the tens of thousands of dollars, were made. In reality, the firm was a dummy corporation that collected the money from ArmsTech, of which the DARPA Chief was bribed to back the Metal Gear REX project. This was later discovered by Nastasha Romanenko and revealed in her book, In the Darkness of Shadow Moses: The Unofficial Truth.
Behind the scenes
In the Metal Gear Solid: Official Handbook Mission, it was stated that Donald Anderson was single. However, this was retconned when In the Darkness of Shadow Moses revealed that Anderson had been married to his wife until his death. It also revealed the role that she played during the Metal Gear REX project.
In Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Sigint (Donald Anderson) alludes to having a girlfriend back in Nashville, Tennessee, when explaining to Naked Snake about a horrific nightmare he had about a walking tank in 1964, although it is unknown whether this girlfriend became his future wife or not.
