Denver is the capital and the most populous city of the state of Colorado, United States.

History[]

Early history[]

Having been created as a mining town during the 1800s, it was also an important agricultural location, earning it the nicknames of "Queen City of the Plains" and "Queen City of the West." It was also called the "Mile High City" because of its presence above sea level.

It once was a major railway transport hub during the early years of freight trains. One line in particular had also been designed underground for transporting supplies to an underground factory, but it ended up being closed some time prior to the end of Denver's railway system.

By 2014, in the aftermath of the Guns of the Patriots Incident, World Marshal Inc. became the largest PMC, due to Outer Heaven's five PMCs splitting up.

Samuel Rodrigues traversed through Denver's sewer system, trying to locate a secret entrance to World Marshal's HQ.

Raiden, having discovered that the PMC World Marshal, alongside Desperado, were involved in a heinous child trafficking plot relating to emulating Solidus Snake's training of child soldiers in Liberia, later drove to Denver to commit a corporate raid on the World Marshal HQ, even going as far as to abruptly resign from Maverick to do so as the action was illegal. He was then ambushed by various members of Denver Police Department who, thanks to legislation made by Steven Armstrong, back when he was still a state senator, were subcontracted to World Marshal, and upon being surrounded after bypassing a barricade, he then proceeded to slaughter most of the DPD unit as well as two Grads. Raiden then utilized the rooftops to get closer to World Marshal. When the trek via rooftops ended up at a dead end, Raiden, under Blade Wolf's advice, utilized a non-functioning elevator to reach the ruins of an old railway system that was abandoned long enough for even its electrical systems to no longer be functional, also evading several Mastiff and Dwarf Gekko UGs. He then made it to the general vicinity to the HQ, in the commercial district. The area was also evacuated due to Raiden's earlier actions, although he had an emotional breakdown courtesy of Sam, eventually culminating in the resurfacing of his Jack the Ripper persona. Raiden, after retrieving the brains from World Marshal, escaped from Denver on foot, after he fell from Doktor's chopper while trying to fight off two MQ-320s.

Non-"Metal Gear Saga" information ends here.

Behind the scenes[]

Occasionally, when traversing through the sewers in the Jetstream DLC, Sam will ask "Why does this place seem so familiar?". This is a reference to the sewer design and soundtrack being reused from the Guadalajara Sewers portion of Chapter R-02.
