Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is an action adventure video game released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows Steam, as well as a reboot of the Castlevania franchise. Developed by Kojima Productions, it was first released and published by Konami on October 5, 2010 in North America, October 8, 2010 in Europe, October 19, 2010 in Australia, and December 16, 2010 in Japan and later released Worldwide for the PC version on August 27-30, 2013.
Relation to the Metal Gear series[]
Aside from it being developed by Kojima Productions, the production company responsible for the Metal Gear series, there are various references to the franchise included in the game. For instance, Gabriel Belmont can be equipped with the Solid Eye and Bandanna equipment from Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots once the main story is completed. The in-game render of Gabriel Belmont with all two equipment included depicts him holding a cigarette in a similar manner to Old Snake from the same game. The theme song for the Metal Gear series can also be heard while traveling through a tunnel in the Vampire Castle. Several of the Japanese cast in the game also had done voice work for the Metal Gear series as well, with series creator Hideo Kojima even having a role as the Chupacabras. Kojima was also largely responsible for the direction the game's story took.
