Guns of the Patriots Incident[]

Rat Patrol Team 01, led by Meryl Silverburgh, was stationed in Advent Palace in 2014. Solid Snake rendezvoused with them and was debriefed on the situation in the region, as well as the Sons of the Patriots System. Maintaining cover, Snake stated that he was sent by Roy Campbell to do threat assessment. Due to Akiba's clumsiness involving the scopes, Haven Troopers ended up spotting them and attacked the area, resulting in them having to fight their way out. Rat Patrol also used an infrared C4 trap against the attackers. They eventually escaped to the building's garage and then managed to take down the soldiers that were waiting in an ambush, utilizing the advantages of SOP, before parting ways with Snake.
