(Sigh) wish me luck on a new playthrough on MGS2: Son's of Liberty. Been a hot minute so I'll definitely get my butt kicked more than I'd like.

Ooh, I remember playing it back in 2019. It was fun, but some of the later boss fights were very hard! I’m glad I chose easy mode! Playing MGS2 also made me experience my favorite MGS character in-game, Fatman! Raiden was so mean to him :,( everyone is so mean to him and he just wants to be the best. I used the tranquilizer and yet later, one of the characters (Solidus) said that he’s dead :(. It’s so sad, I think he is so cute, handsome, and charming! I wish we got to see more of him.
I hope you will enjoy playing MGS2 again!
Man mgs2 was rough for me lol. I could not figure out that the layout of the Big Shell. Like strut A? Shell 2? What? Do I need a physical map? Granted I tend to get confused by most metal gear settings.
Still enjoyed it a bunch. And definitely one of the most influential in the metal gear franchise to me as a person. The others being 4 and MGRR.
My struggle with MGS2 when playing on Big Shell was going into a new strut area, I walk-in blindly not knowing where the patrols are, always get the (!) 8 times out of 10 lol, get wrecked, poor Raiden.
Fatman was a fun boss to go against, Fortune was an interesting character. Now that I'm older I can better understand the significance of the story, and pickup on things that flew over my head. VR missions are fun and remind me of the VR Mission disc on the PS1, the sound is most nostalgic.
Same. I feel like getting to the Node of each shell is supposed to be the “stealth” segments and then after you find it, you basically have all the info to get through it easy. But as is with these games, it’s difficult before and after lol. All the boss fights I remember being super entertaining though. Vamp being able to pin you in place with your shadow (or actually hypnosis), Solidus in the Harrier, and all those Rays.
I think it was one of the better mgs games i temember waiting eagerly for to be released on ps2 back in the day. Think i may have to give it a go again.
It’s definitely one of the better ones
I played mgs2 in the metal gear solid HD collection in XBOX360, but the archive was broken. My VR task was in vain (the progress stopped from top to bottom in the tuxedo snake)......
It’s the first MGS game I played so it has a personal importance for me. I played it as a child and then as a teenager after completing MGS3. After a while I learned that Burial was using samples from this game and its sound in my ears is eternal.
What do you think?
